Public Content

  • Given a choice between four candidates of equal skills and temperament, 35% favor one who supports Trump-like policies.
    • Another 16% prefer a traditional Republican candidate.
    • On the left, 18% prefer someone who supports policies similar to Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), while 23% prefer a traditional Democrat.
    • Originally, we asked about a candidate who preferred policies similar to those of Senator Bernie Sanders, rather than AOC. At the time, Sanders was the leading voice of the progressive wing of the Democratic party. AOC has now taken on that role, so we have begun adjusting our question to reflect that reality.

The most recent data cited is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 2,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen July 21-24, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 2.2.
