  • Just 33% of voters now consider Israel an ally, down a full 25 points from early March, just after the war began.
    • One in five (21%) of voters say Israel is an enemy, up 8 points from March.
    • One in 4 (26%) say it is neither, while another 20% aren't sure.
    • Just 20% of Democrats now call Israel an ally, down 27% from March.
    • Even just half of GOP voters (49%) now call Israel an ally, down 21% from March.
  • Meanwhile, though just 8% consider Iran an ally, 56% now consider it an enemy, down 16 points from when we last asked in January, before the war.
    • Again, a sizable chunk say it is neither an ally nor an enemy (20%) or that they are not sure (15%).
    • A plurality (44%) of Democrats now call Iran an enemy, down 20 points from January.
    • Likewise, the number of Republicans calling Iran an enemy (71%) is down 10 points.
  • Similarly, though a majority (56%) consider Russia an enemy, that is also down 17 points.
    • Roughly 6 in 10 voters in each party say that Russia is an enemy, with each party recording double-digit losses in that category.
    • Just 8% consider Russia an ally, with 19% saying it is neither an ally nor an enemy, and 16% undecided.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, May 11-12, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
