  • The top issues for voters are the economy (28%), inflation (20%), and healthcare (13%).Immigration has slipped slightly (10%), as it used to be tied for the third slot.
  • On the economy, voters trust Republicans more by a 5-point margin.
    • Forty-two percent (42%) trust Republicans more on the economy, while 37% prefer Democrats.
    • Republicans had the advantage on this issue most of 2024 and all of 2025. However, the advantage slipped to a 1-point lead in April, after the tariffs were announced.
    • Voters who make less than $35,000 per year trust Democrats more by a 1-point margin. All other measured income groups trust Republicans more.
  • On inflation, Republicans have a narrower, 39% to 37% edge.
    • In May, Republicans had a wider lead, 43% to 37%.
    • Likewise, Republicans have a long history of leading this category, except for after April tariffs were announced, when Democrats got a four point advantage.
  • On healthcare, Democrats have a healthy edge, 42% to 34%.
    • That is little changed from recent months, and a Democratic stronghold since we started measuring it in 2023.
