17% Agree With Donald Trump on Just About Everything

Publication: 04/25/2025 1:25 PM CST

Seventeen percent (17%) of voters say they agree with Donald Trump on just about everything. A Napolitan News survey also found that 8% agree just as much with one of four leading Democrats: Kamala Harris, Barack Obama, Bernie Sanders, or Joe Biden.

However, 67% of voters who say there is no politician they agree with on just about everything. This suggests that reporters and analysts who equate the views of voters with the candidates they elect are missing the point. People vote for a candidate like they pick a team to root for in the Super Bowl. A handful of fans are excited because their team is in the big game. Most are less committed and simply decide to favor on or root against the other.

One reason people in the political bubble often miss this basic point is that the small number who talk politics on a daily basis are more likely to have a candidate they completely trust and follow. Forty-nine percent (49%) of voters who talk politics daily at this time have a politician they trust on just about everything. That includes 33% who completely trust President Trump and 5% who trust one of the four leading Democrats.

In this survey, voters were first asked if there were any politicians they agreed with on just about everything. Among those who said yes, they were asked an open-ended question to name that political leader.

The most recent data cited is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen April 21-22, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
