  • Only 34% of registered voters approve of the way their own representative in Congress is doing his or her job.
    • Almost half (48%) disapprove of the way their representative is doing the job.
    • Nine percent (9%) don't know who their representative is, and another 9% say they are Not Sure.
    • More Republicans (42%) than Democrats (31%) approve of their representative's job performance.
  • Just 30% say it's unlikely that their representative in Congress trades votes for cash.
    • Nearly half (47%) of voters say that it's likely that their representative trades votes for cash, with 15% saying it's Very Likely.
    • This is up 5 points from April 2025 and up 7 points from October 2022.
    • One quarter (24%) are not sure.
    • Democrats and Republicans have similar opinions to all voters.
    • A large majority (70%) of politically engaged voters say it's likely that their representative trades votes for cash.
  • One quarter (25%) say that their Congressional representative is the best person for the job, down 9 points from April 2025.
    • Almost 4 in 10 (38%) say their representative is not the best person, up 10 points from April 2025.
    • Seventeen percent (17%) don't know who their representative is*.
    • The Democrats and Republicans have very similar numbers to all voters.
    • Only 9% of Independents say their representative is the best person for the job.

*It is worth noting that the numbers claiming to not know who their representative is, while different in this question, is nearly identical to the number claiming they don't know or aren't sure in the first question.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, June 8-9, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
