38% Favor Making Canada Part of the United States

01/16/2025

Thirty-eight percent (38%) of voters favor making Canada a part of the United States. A Napolitan News survey found that 40% are opposed.

Fifty-two percent (52%) of Republicans favor the proposal while 38% are opposed.

These numbers are similar to the attitudes towards making Greenland part of the United states (37% favor, 41% oppose) and doing the same with the Panama Canal (40% favor, 41% oppose).

When asked about Mexico, the response is much different. Just 19% favor making Mexico part of the United States while 69% are opposed.

Voters overwhelmingly believe that Canadians would rather remain an independent country rather than becoming part of the United States.

This Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen January 13-14, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
