Forty-three percent (43%) of voters approve of the way that President Trump is handling the issue of tariffs. A Napolitan News survey found that 49% disapprove. There is a strong partisan divide on this issue. Among Republicans, 76% approve and 16% disapprove. Among Democrats, 82% disapprove and 15% approve.
A majority of voters believe that President Trump's tariffs will negatively affect prices on goods. Sixty-one percent (61%) say prices will go up, and 17% say prices will go down.
The Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters nationwide was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen March 17-18, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
