After learning that a large number of executive orders issued by President Biden were signed using an autopen rather than by the president himself, 45% of voters say executive orders signed by autopen should be dismissed as an unsigned order. Thirty-seven percent (37%) disagree, and think it should be accepted as a legitimate order.
Voters feel similarly when it comes to pardons that were signed by an autopen. Forty-four percent (44%) believe that these pardons by President Biden should be considered null and void, while 39% disagree.
The Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters nationwide was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen March 17-18, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
