  • Forty-seven (47%) of voters say Democrats as a party favor America's founding ideals, while 43% claim Republicans favor America's founding ideals.
    • The number claiming Democrats favor America's founding ideals has gone up 3 since December, while the Republican side is down 9 points.
    • The partisan divides are predictable, with large majorities of each party claiming the other side does not support the country's ideals.
    • Just 79% of Republicans say their party supports the country's founding ideals, down 14 points from December of 2025.
  • Just 16% of Independents think Republicans favor America's founding ideals. Just 27% say Democrats do.
  • Meanwhile, MAGA Republicans and Progressive Democrats each poll lower than their party as a whole.
    • Four in 10 voters say Progressive Democrats (40%) and MAGA Republicans (39%) support the country's founding ideals.
  • Nearly half of voters (48%) say MAGA Republicans are opposed to America's founding ideals, including a plurality (42%) of Traditional Republican voters.
    • Just 36% say Progressive Democrats oppose the country's founding ideals, while 1 in 4 (26%) are not sure.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, March 16-17, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
