Sixty percent (60%) of voters favor sending troops across the border into Mexico to prevent drug cartels from entering the U.S. or smuggling dangerous drugs into America.
That's up from 51% in January of 2024.
A Napolitan News Survey also found that 68% favor sending military troops and equipment to the southern border of the United States for the same purpose. That number rose from 53% when Biden took office to 71% during his term, and has been steady for the past three years.
Still, 81% of voters say that legal immigration is good for the country, and 77% say that illegal immigration is bad. These numbers have held steady for decades.
The most recent data cited is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen May 14-15, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
