A majority (62%) of registered voters recognize that the states with strict lockdowns suffered more serious economic losses than states with fewer restrictions.
- Only 19% disagree.
Fifty percent (50%) of voters recognize the research that has shown that mask mandates did little or nothing to prevent the spread of COVID during the pandemic.
- Over a third (38%) disagree.
Almost 2 in 5 registered voters (39%) recognize that states with strict lockdown restrictions have generally lost population because many people moved to states with fewer restrictions.
- One third (33%) do not agree.
A plurality of voters (38%) know that the death rates from COVID in states with strict lockdowns were pretty much the same as those with fewer restrictions.
- Thirty-six percent (36%) do not recognize this truth.

The most recent data cited is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen September 10-11, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
