Sixty-five percent (65%) say the local police in their area do a good or an excellent job. A Napolitan News Survey found that 24% give the police a fair rating, and 9% say poor.
If they were alone in a difficult situation and a police officer appeared, 76% would be happy to see that officer, while 13% would be frightened. Among Black voters, 55% would be happy and 32% frightened.
Most voters (53%) say it is never justifiable for police to break laws in order to catch criminals. Thirty percent (30%) believe it is sometimes justified.
This Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen February 13-14, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
