  • For all the perceived divisions in our country today, Americans still agree on America's founding ideals.
    • Currently, 82% say it is fair to say America was founded on the ideals of Freedom, Equality, and Self-Governance.
    • That number has been over 80% since 2023, and 70% or above since 2022.
  • Other attitudes have also remained largely unchanged over the years.
    • Sixty-one percent (61%) say that, of those three ideals, Freedom is the most important, 2 points off a low (59%) in September, and also 2 points off a high (63%) in February.
    • Just under a third (29%) say Equality is most important, while just 7% say Self-Governance.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, December 17-18, 2025. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
