Twenty percent (20%) of voters say that most police officers and police departments are fundamentally racist. However, a Napolitan News survey found that 69% disagree and say say most officers try to treat all people equally regardless of race.
A Napolitan News Survey found that, in regards to their local police departments, 14% of voters say that racism is a serious and widespread problem. Seventy-two percent (72%) say it is either not a problem at all (33%) or isolated to a few bad officers (39%).
Still, given that 53% of voters say racism exists in some form in their local department explains why the Black Lives Matter movement got so much attention.
When it comes to Black Lives Matter, 54% of voters have favorable opinions, while 36% have unfavorable views. Republicans view Black Lives Matter unfavorably by a 57% to 33% margin, while Democrats have favorable views by a margin of 78% to 16%.
These numbers are not a reflection of the Black Lives Matter organization. Rather, they are a reflections of the movement and the attitude conveyed by the phrase.
