Federal Managers Are Evenly Divided As To Whether They Would Follow A Legal Order From President Trump

01/21/2025

Federal Government Managers are evenly divided as to whether or not they would follow a legal order from President Trump if they thought it was bad policy. A Napolitan Institute survey found that just 45% of these managers would follow the order. Forty-six percent (46%) would ignore the president's order and do what they thought was right.

The survey of 500 Federal Government Managers found that 52% of them voted for former Vice President Kamala Harris while 45% voted for President Trump.

Among the managers who voted for Trump, 78% would follow the president's order and 19% would do what they thought was right. The numbers among Harris voters pointed in the opposite direction: 17% would follow the order and 69% would ignore it. Fourteen percent (14%) of Harris voters were not sure how they would respond.

The Napolitan Institute survey was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen from December 9-23, 2024. Field work was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Federal Government Managers were defined as living in the National Capitol Region, working for the federal government or a government agency, and earning at least $75,000 annually.

Additional information on the survey can be found in The Resistance, a report issued by the Napolitan Institute.
