  • Most voters know what it means when politicians are on the "right" or on the "left."
  • Seventy percent (70%) of registered voters say that when someone is on the right, that person is conservative.
    • Only 20% say that person is liberal.
    • Some (10%) are Not Sure.
    • Younger voters aged 18 to 34 agree to a lesser extent; only 58% say someone on the right is conservative.
  • The numbers regarding the other side are mirrored, with 70% saying that a person who is on the left is liberal, and only 20% saying the person is a conservative.

This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, February 9-10, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
