  • Perceptions of American society continue to be pessimistic, as just 39% of voters say that it is generally Fair and Decent, the lowest since Trump took office last year, when that number was the same.
    • Nearly half (48%) now say it is Unfair and Discriminatory.
    • Republicans say it is Fair and Decent by a 63% to 28% margin.
    • Democrats disagree and call it Unfair and Discriminatory by a 71% to 19% margin.
  • Again, showing a disconnect from the average voter, people who talk politics more are more likely to consider American society Fair and Decent.
    • Just 28% of voters who Rarely or Never discuss politics consider America Fair and Decent, compared to 52% of those who talk politics at least Most Days.
  • There is also a new low in the number calling America a land of liberty and justice for all.
    • Four in 10 (41%) say it is, while 5 in 10 (48%) say it is not.
    • Again, Republicans overwhelmingly say the country is a land of liberty and justice for all, with 70% saying that is a fair discription.
    • Democrats are the mirror image, with 73% saying it is not.
  • While there is still a general view that America is the land of opportunity, that number has also fallen.
    • Half (50%) of voters consider America the land of opportunity, while 33% disagree.
    • This is the lowest number calling America the land of opportunity since 2022, when 55% said it was.
    • Likewise, 33% is the largest number to say America is NOT the land of opportunity, 6 points higher than in July of 2025.
    • Republicans overwelmingly believe America is the land of opportunity by a 72% to 18% margin.
    • Democrats disagree by a more modest but significant margin of 50% to 31%.
  • Traditional Democratic voters are divided, with 37% calling America the land of opportunity, and 42% disagreeing.
    • One in 5 (21%) are not sure.
