  • As election integrity and the SAVE Act continue to make headlines, it's not just Photo ID that voters want to see implemented:
    • Over 9 in 10 (92%) want states to clean voter rolls by removing people who have died or moved from the voter registration lists.
      • This has remained relatively unchanged since we first asked in 2022.
      • Although almost all Republicans (97%) agree, a strong majority (85%) of Democrats also agree.
    • Only slightly less (86%) want all voting machines to be made in the United States.
      • This is up 5 points since last August 2025 and up 11 points since 2022.
      • Although 64% of Democrats agree, 18% are Not Sure about the voting machine requirement.
    • As has been well documented, 8 in 10 voters (82%) want to require showing a photo ID before casting a ballot.
      • This is down 4 points since August 2025, but up 1 point since 2022.
      • Most Republicans (94%) agree, and 70% of Democrats agree.
    • Donald Trump has specifically targeted mail-in ballots recently. Eight in 10 voters (79%) think all mail-in ballots must be received by Election Day (79%).
      • Voters have felt similarly in 3 out of 4 of our polls, except in October 2024 when 86% said the same when Trump and Biden were competing for office.
      • While 92% of Republicans agree that mail-in ballots should be received by Election Day, fewer Democrats (67%) agree.
  • Of these 4 requirements, a majority (55%) of voters say requiring photo ID would do the most to restore confidence in elections.
    • One quarter (24%) say requiring mail-in ballots by Election Day would do the most to restore confidence. This view has doubled from 12% last August.
    • A large majority of Republicans (77%) say requiring photo ID would do the most to restore confidence.
    • A plurality (36%) of Democrats say that cleaning the voter rolls would do the most, and 32% say it's photo ID.
