Voters are split when it comes to President Trump's executive order to create a sovereign wealth fund, partly because the concept is unknown to the majority of voters. A Napolitan News survey found just 10% of voters know what a sovereign wealth fund is.
After defining a sovereign wealth fund as "an investment fund owned by a government", 36% were in favor of the creation of such fund, while 37% oppose it.
President Trump hinted this fund might be used to acquire TikTok. Forty-one percent (41%) of voters approve of this approach, while 46% are opposed.
It's important to recognize that opinions on this topic are very soft because the entire concept is little known or understood. Opinions could shift dramatically as the issue becomes more defined.
This Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen February 4-5, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
