  • The events in Minneapolis have begun to make themselves felt, as perceptions of ICE have hit a new low, and the number of people saying deportation has gone too far has hit a high-water mark.
    • Currently 47% have at least a Somewhat Favorable opinion of ICE, down 3 points from two weeks ago, while those who disapprove is now 52%, up 8 points in that time.
    • Compared to a month ago, approval is down 6 points, and disapproval is up 13 points.
  • Meanwhile, 45% now say deportations have Gone Too Far, up 5 points from two weeks ago, and surpassing the previous high of 42% in December.
    • Currently, about half (51%) of Republicans, say they have Not Gone Far Enough, while just 10% say they have Gone Too Far. Just over a third (35%) say they have been About Right.
    • Unsurprisingly, 8 in 10 (79%) Democrats say deportations have Gone Too Far. Just 9% say they have Not Gone Far Enough, and 10% say they have been About Right.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, January 21-22, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
