For the third straight month, voters continue to trust the Democratic Party more than the Republican Party on the Economy -- an issue that has traditionally been a stronghold for the GOP.
Thirty-eight percent (38%) of voters say they place their trust in Democrats on the Economy. While this is down 1 point from last month, it remains 5 points ahead of March, the last time Republicans led on the issue. Meanwhile, 36% of voters currently back the Republican Party on the Economy, up 2 points from last month.
The net +2 for Democrats is down from +5 last month, and if things in Iran continue to cool down, Republicans will likely retake the edge on that issue.

The Battle Over Inflation and Healthcare
A similar trend is playing out regarding Inflation, where Democrats hold a tight lead. Thirty-six percent (36%) of voters trust Democrats more to manage Inflation, compared to 34% who favor Republicans. This maintains a 3-month streak where Democrats have led on the Inflation issue by up to 4 points.
Meanwhile, Healthcare has surged in importance, overtaking last month's focus on National Security to become the third top issue for voters. Democrats continue to lead: 42% trust Democrats more on Healthcare, and 30% trust Republicans more.
Where Republicans Still Hold the Edge
Despite losing ground on major economic issues, the Republican Party still maintains a slight advantage on three key fronts:
- Immigration: Trusted by 41% of voters, compared to 36% for Democrats.
- National Security: Trusted by 38% of voters, compared to 34% for Democrats.
- Crime: Trusted by 36% of voters, compared to 34% for Democrats.
