  • Eighty-three percent (83%) of American voters say it should be against the law to alter a photo or video of another person without their permission.
    • Just 10% hold the opposite view.
  • While all groups are clearly aligned on this topic, government employees are the least likely to say it should be illegal.
    • While 71% of government employees think it should be illegal, 23% do not.
  • There is a similar dynamic when asked if someone who alters an image in a way that harms someone else should face legal consequences.
    • Eighty-nine percent (89%) say such a person should face legal consequences, while 6% are opposed.
