In a survey of 800 registered voters in Washington, Napolitan News Service found that Washingtonians are largely unified on the issues of taxes and ballot initiatives, but more divided on the topic of federal policy.

Eighty percent (80%) of Washington voters say that the legislature should address the state's budget deficit by slowing the growth of spending and balancing the budget without raising taxes.

Just 18% say it is appropriate for the legislature to overturn last year's ballot initiative giving parents more access to their children's school curriculum. However, a majority of the legislature is now threatening to overturn it.

By a 61% to 23% margin, Washingtonians trust voters more than judges when it comes to policy and political decisions.

The most recent data cited is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 800 Registered Voters in Washington conducted online by Scott Rasmussen April 9-14, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.5.
