  • As opposition to the Iran attacks continues to rise, just 27% of voters say it is appropriate for the United States to attack a foreign nation with the goal of overthrowing that nation's government.
    • A solid majority (56%) say it is not appropriate.
  • Meanwhile, 50% say it is at least Somewhat Likely that the U.S. and Israel will overthrow the current government in Iran.
    • That is up 6 points from earlier this week, but down 5 from when the war started.
  • However, among those who say there is a chance of success, just 19% believe it will take a few weeks, while 33% say it will take at least a year.
    • The number saying it will take at least a year is up 5 points from last week.
    • Thirty-seven percent (37%) of those who say there is a chance of regime change believe it will take a few months.
  • If the only way to achieve regime change was to send in U.S. ground troops, just 30% of voters favor the action, while 66% oppose it.
    • Those numbers include 11% who Strongly Favor it but 45% who Strongly Oppose it.
    • A majority have opposed this idea since the attacks began, though opposition has continued to build.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, April 1-2, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
