  • This week, economic optimism moved lower again, as 31% of registered voters rate the economy as Good or Excellent, down 2 points from 2 weeks ago, but up 3 points from a month ago.
    • Thirty percent (30%) rate the economy as Poor, a slight improvement from the 32% that said the same 2 weeks ago.
    • A majority of Republicans (52%) say the economy is Good or Excellent, down 3 points from 2 weeks ago, but up 3 points from a month ago.
    • Just 12% of Republican voters say the economy is Poor.
    • Democrats' views are not quite so optimistic: only 13% say the economy is Good or Excellent, while 46% say it is Poor.
  • Only 33% of voters say the economy is getting better, and 44% say it is getting worse.
    • This sentiment is an improvement from the last month when 31% said the economy was getting better and 48% said it was getting worse.
    • Sixty-three percent (63%) of Republicans say it is getting better (up 7 points 2 weeks ago), and 18% say it is getting worse.
    • In contrast, 67% of Democrats say it is getting worse, and just 10% say it is getting better.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, February 17, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
