The latest Napolitan News survey shows that 39% of voters believe President Trump believes in America's founding ideals of Freedom, Equality, and Self-Governance*. That is unchanged from June. Meanwhile, 50% say he does not support those founding ideals. That is down a single point.
Shortly after the President took office, in February of 2025, 48% believed the president supported America's founding ideals, while 40% disagreed.
Eight-in-10 Republicans (78%) say that President Trump supports Freedom, Equality, and Self-Governance, while 8-in-10 Democrats (81%) disagree. On the right, as is often the case, there is a sharp divide: 85% of voters who prefer Trump-like policies say the president supports America's founding ideals, while 12% disagree. Among Traditional GOP voters, however, just 60% are confident the president supports these ideals, while 30% actively believe he doesn't.
In another example of the disconnect of the political bubble, by a margin of 51% to 45%, voters who talk politics on a daily basis say President Trump say President Trump supports Freedom, Equality, and Self-Governance.

*This same survey shows that 75% of voters say that, generally speaking, it is fair to say America was founded on these ideals.
This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, October 5-6, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
