  • Seventy-one percent (71%) will be doing holiday gift shopping this year.
    • Roughly a quarter (24%) will not be doing any shopping.
  • Compared to last year, 47% of those who are holiday shopping say they will spend about the same as last year. One quarter (24%) will spend more, and 29% will spend less.
  • About a third (34%) say they are doing half of their shopping online and half in retail stores.
    • Nineteen percent (19%) are shopping mostly online, and another 7% will be doing all of their holiday shopping online.
    • Only 7% will be doing their shopping mostly in store, and 4% will do it all in store.
  • As of December 20th, 5% of voters haven't started Christmas shopping yet.
    • Not everyone is putting off shopping though; 31% have already completely finished shopping, and 33% are mostly finished.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, December 20, 2025. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
