  • Half of registered voters (49%) say that the federal government overreacted to the coronavirus pandemic in ways that did more harm than good.
    • Forty percent (40%) do not think the federal government overreacted.
  • Over one third (36%) of registered voters say that most of or just about all the information released by the federal government was intentionally false and misleading.
    • Among all voters, just 1 in 10 (10%) say that none of the information released was intentionally false and misleading.
  • Forty-three percent (43%) think that the CDC generally provided reliable and fact-based guidelines.
    • Thirty-seven percent (37%) think the CDC generally acted in a partisan political manner.


The most recent data cited is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen September 10-11, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
