Napolitan News asked 1000 voters to compare several countries and let us know which countries they thought or an enemy of the United States.

  • Half (50%) of voters say China is an enemy, but 17% now consider the country an ally.
    • The number considering China an ally is up 6 points after holding steady at 11% since January.
    • Voters under 35 are split: 34% consider it an ally, and 33% consider it an enemy.
    • One quarter (25%) say China is neither an ally nor an enemy.
    • Democrats and Republicans are aligned on this topic.
  • An overwhelming majority (85%) of voters consider Iran an enemy.
    • This number is up 29 points from our May 11th poll, and up 13 points since January.
    • In June 2025, 69% said Iran was an enemy, and fewer (61%) said the same in September 2023.
    • This week, just 3% consider Iran an ally, and 10% say it's neither an enemy nor ally.
    • Although 79% of Democrats say Iran is an enemy, 15% say it's not an enemy nor an ally.
  • Most voters (65%) consider Italy an ally, including Democrats and Republicans.
    • Just 4% consider it an enemy, and 20% say Italy is neither an ally nor an enemy.
  • A minority of voters say that Argentina (37%), Indonesia (31%), and Nigeria (25%) are allies of the United States.
    • Much smaller percentages say these countries are enemies: Argentina (11%), Indonesia (8%), and Nigeria (13%).
    • About 30% say each of these countries is not an ally or enemy.
    • The parties aligned with these numbers, except that 35% of Republicans consider Indonesia an ally, and only 27% of Democrats say the same.
