  • Half of voters (52%) say they can set aside money for savings, the same as 2 weeks ago and up 5 points from a month ago.
    • In April, just 43% said they could set aside money, while it hit a peak of 53% in September.
    • The number saying all their money goes to living expenses (44%) is the same as 2 weeks ago and down 5 points from a month ago.
  • Forty-seven percent (47%) of voters say they would need to cut back on their lifestyle to make a surprise expense of $1,000.
    • That is up two points from our last survey, but down from the 51% who said they would have to cut back in late July.
  • Almost half (49%) of voters say they paid off their credit cards in full.
    • This is down 4 points from the 53% seen 2 weeks ago.
    • Forty-two percent (42%) say they had to make partial payments.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, October 20-21, 2025. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
