  • By a 2-to-1 margin, voters support Trump's Iran tariff plan and further Iranian penalties.
    • When informed of Trump's 25% tariff on countries that trade with Iran, 52% of voters favor the policy, including 26% who Strongly Favor it.
    • A third (34%) of voters oppose the policy.
  • President Trump has even more support for additional direct sanctions and economic penalties on the Iranian government.
    • 63% of voters support these measures, with only 24% opposed.
    • Among those who follow the news about Iran Very Closely, 73% favor economic penalties, while those following Not At All Closely are the only group that isn't a majority--just 41% of those voters are in favor.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, January 14-15, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
