Most voters (57%) say making America energy independent is more important than fighting climate change. Thirty-nine percent (39%) take the opposite view. Sixty-five percent (65%) of Democrats say fighting climate change is the higher priority. Only 14% of Republicans share that view.

More than two out of three Americans (68%) say providing clean air and water for everyone is more important than preventing climate change.

The Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters nationwide was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen March 18-19, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
