58% Still Say the President Has Too Much Power

A large majority (58%) of voters believe the President has too much power, down 5 points from January.
- That total is split among those who believe he has Far Too Much (40%) and Somewhat Too Much (18%).
- Still, while Biden was in office in August 2024, only 35% of voters believed the President had too much power.
- About 1 in 5 voters (22%) believe the President's level of power is About the Right Amount.
- Seventeen percent (17%) believe it is too little.
Four in 10 voters (41%) believe that Congress has too much power, up 1 point from January but down 7 points from October.
- That total includes 17% who say it has Far Too Much and 24% who say Somewhat Too Much.
- One quarter (25%) say Congress has too little power (down 4 points from January), while 29% say it has About the Right Amount.
- By a 45% to 14% margin, Republicans say Congress has too much power, and a third (35%) say it is About the Right Amount.
- A plurality of Democrats (40%) claim it has too much power, 35% say it has too little power, and another 22% say it is About the Right Amount.
Similarly, 44% of voters believe the Supreme Court has too much power, up 2 points from January but down 3 from October.
- This group is split among those who believe it has Far Too Much (16%) and Somewhat Too Much (28%).
- Nineteen (19%) say the Supreme Court has too little power, while 33% believe its level of power is about right.
- A plurality of Republicans (46%) say the Court has too much power, 40% believe it has about the right amount, and only 11% say it is too little.
- Similarly, 46% of Democrats also say the court has too much power, but 25% believe it has too little.

This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, February 25-26, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
