59% Say Keeping Gas Prices Low Is More Important Than Fighting Climate Change

Seventy-nine percent (79%) of voters say fighting climate change is important. However, a majority (59%) say that keeping gas prices low for American families is more important than fighting climate change.

  1. Half of all voters (47%) are unwilling to pay more than $50 a year to fight climate change.
  2. Just 15% are willing to pay more than $1,000 a year.
  3. Earlier research showed that the Elite One Percent are willing to support draconian measures to fight climate change. However, such measures are strongly opposed by voters.

This Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen January 30-31, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
