  • A potential deal has been reached that would extend government funding at current levels through January.
    • A strong majority (63%) of registered voters say it is more important to end the partial federal government shutdown, while 27% say it is more important to keep the government shut down until a long-term budget can be agreed upon.
    • Double-digit majorites of Democrats (60%) and Republicans (71%) agree on this topic.
  • Additionally, the potential deal would set a date in the future for Congress to vote on health insurance tax credits.
    • A similar number (61%) of registered voters say it is more important to end the shutdown than to resolve the health insurance tax credit issues.
    • One third (33%) disagree and say it is more important to keep the government shut down.
    • On this issue, though majorities of both parties agree, there is a bit more divergence. Sixty-nine percent (69%) of Republicans say opening the government is more important, along with 55% of Democrats.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, November 10-11, 2025. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
