  • A large majority (63%) of voters believe the President has too much power, up 4 points from October and a new high since we started asking this question in 2024.
    • That total is split among those who believe he has Far Too Much (42%) and Somewhat Too Much (21%).
    • This is in stark contrast to our August 2024 poll while Biden was in office, in which only 35% of voters believed the President had too much power.
    • Twenty-three percent (23%) believe the President's level of power is about right, while 15% believe it is too little.
  • In contrast, voters are now significantly less likely to say Congress or the Supreme Court has too much power.
  • Four in 10 voters (40%) believe that Congress has too much power, down 8 points from October.
    • That total includes 16% who say it has Far Too Much and 24% who say Somewhat Too Much.
    • The number saying Congress has too little power (29%) is also up 7 points, while 24% say it has About the Right Amount.
    • Republicans say Congress has too much Power by a 47% to 14% margin, with a third (33%) saying it is About the Right Amount.
    • Democrats disagree but seem split into two groups: 44% say Congress has too little power, while 35% claim it has too much. Another 16% say it is About the Right Amount.
  • Likewise, 42% of voters believe the Supreme Court has too much power, down 5 points from October.
    • That group is split among those who believe it has Far Too Much (15%) and Somewhat Too Much (27%).
    • Unlike Congress, the number saying the Supreme Court has too little power is just up 1 point from October, while 30% believe its level of power is about right.
    • About half (51%) of Democrats say the court has too much power, while 27% believe it has too little.
    • On the other hand, a plurality (45%) of Republicans say the Court has about the right amount. A third (34%) believe it has too much power, and a quarter (26%) say it is too little.
