  • Sixty-eight percent (68%) of voters say that policy experts in the federal government pay too little attention to voters' concerns.
    • That includes 39% who say far too little, and 29% who say somewhat too little.
    • Overall, 18% say policy experts pay too much attention, while 11% say they pay about the right amount of attention.
  • Sixty-eight percent (68%) also say that the state government pays too little attention to voter concerns.
    • One third (33%) say far too little, while 35% say somewhat too little.
    • Just 13% say too much attention is paid.
  • A similar number (65%) feel that local governments pay too little attention to voters' when creating policies.
    • Thirty-two percent (32%) say far too little attention is paid, while 33% say somewhat too little.
    • As at the state level, just 13% say too much attention is paid.
  • On all of these questions, those who work in the government are far more likely to say too much attention is paid to voters.
  • Another important group is most likely to disagree with the majority on all these questions are voters making more than $150,000 per year.
