  • At least 7 in 10 voters favor hiring temporary foreign workers after being given information about the policies in place for the practice.
  • To keep farms in business and reduce food prices, 76% of registered voters favor allowing farmers to hire temporary foreign workers and then return to their home countries.
    • Four in 10 (41%) Strongly favor this arrangement.
    • Just 15% oppose the idea.
    • Democrats and Republicans are fairly aligned, with 85% (D's) and 73% (R's) favoring the arrangement.
    • Fewer government employees favored the arrangement: 67% favoring, and 24% opposing.
  • After learning that farmers must attempt to hire domestic workers before they can use the temporary labor program, slightly fewer voters (70%) say they favor the program.
    • Still, 35% Strongly favor it.
    • Just 16% oppose the program.
    • Again, Democrat voters (76%) and Republican voters (72%) are also in relative agreement.
    • Even fewer (56%) voters who work for the government favor the program knowing this information.
  • Knowing that foreign workers must have a temporary labor certificate from the government and the longest they can stay is 3 years, 73% of voters say they favor the program.
    • One third (36%) Strongly favor it.
    • Again, just 16% oppose the program.
    • Democrat and Republican voters' views are still close (79% D's, and 74% R's).
  • In all talks about immigration, it is important to remember that 62% of voters say legal is good and illegal is bad.
    • Another 16% say legal and illegal immigration are good for the United States, while just 12% say legal immigration and illegal immigration are bad.
    • These numbers have been relatively stable for decades.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, March 9-10, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
