  • More than 9 out of 10 voters (95%) consider fentanyl abuse a serious problem in the United States today.
    • That number is little changed from 2023.
  • In addition, 68% of voters are concerned a close friend or family member could accidentally take a fake pill that contains a deadly amount of fentanyl.
    • That number is up 9 points since 2023.
  • The number primarily blaming Mexican drug cartels (39%) for the crisis has also risen 8 points since 2023.
    • Twenty-one percent (21%) blame the president and federal government, while other options did not break single digits, except for Not Sure (18%).
  • As reported in another recent article, 58% Strongly Support charging drug traffickers with murder if they distribute drugs that result in someone's death.
    • Just 10% are opposed to the idea.
