  • As Donald Trump announced the ceasefire in the Iran war, opinions remain solidified: just 39% of voters favor the attacks, while a majority (52%) oppose them. Another 9% are undecided.
    • Those numbers include 18% who Strongly Favor the attacks, and 34% who Strongly Oppose them.
    • Disapproval reached as high as 61% a week ago, but many voters have moved back to being Not Sure since President Trump's speech, which helped promote the contrast between long-term objectives in Iran and short-term energy price issues.
    • Republicans support the attacks by a margin of 66% to 27%, while Democrats oppose by a margin of 75% to 19%.
  • The President's handling of the overall situation in Iran faces similar views: slightly more voters approve (42%), but more also disapprove (55%).
    • Again, those who Strongly Disapprove (42%) far outnumber those who Strongly Approve (19%).
    • Similar party splits occur.
  • Meanwhile, after a brief dip in following the story closely over Easter Weekend, 32% report now following the situation in Iran Very Closely, up 7 points, and consistent with numbers shown throughout the conflict.
    • For comparison, 27% of voters followed news of the Epstein files Very Closely, and 37% followed news of the Minneapolis shootings Very Closely.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, April 6-7, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
