A recent Napolitan News survey of 1,000 registered voters highlights that pocketbook concerns dominate public attention, continuing a historical trend. Given a standard list, 26% of voters continue to rate the Economy as the single most important political issue today.

Economic Concerns Dominate
From the list of issues, voters clearly prioritized financial anxiety over other social and structural issues. Following the Economy, Inflation (20%) and Healthcare (13%) secured the second and third spots for top priorities.
Other major national talking points were further behind in terms of top-tier urgency:
- Immigration is named the top issue by 11% of voters.
- Crime is at 8%.
- National Security and Climate Change are both at 6%.
- Abortion (4%), Education (4%), and Gun Laws (3%) rounded out the list.
Bi-Partisan Alignment on the Financial Crunch
While political divides are usually seen for many issues, both major parties share a similar focus on the economy.
- For Republicans: The Economy leads at 30%, with Immigration following at 16% and Inflation at 15%.
- For Democrats: The Economy also takes the top slot at 23%, closely trailed by Inflation at 22% and Healthcare at 18%.
Intensity of Focus
When voters were asked to rate the individual importance of these issues rather than picking just one, the intensity of their economic worry is even clearer. A strong majority of 76% stated the Economy is Very Important, while 68% said the same for Inflation, and 65% for Healthcare.
There are many ways to ask about the importance of issues. Napolitan News routinely asks an open-ended question so that voters can answer the question in their own words. Consistently, in this format, economic issues are the top issues.
This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, June 22-23, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
