With James Talarico's recent nomination for Senate, Democrats are hopeful that his liberal messaging, like his 2021 claim that there are "six genders," shows that Progressive Democratic views are becoming more mainstream.

In fact, however, it shows just how out of touch Progressives are -- even among their own party.

  • Overall, 77% of voters agree that science proves that there are only 2 genders -- male and female.
    • Just 17% disagree.
    • These numbers include 57% who Strongly Agree and 10% who Strongly Disagree.
  • And, 62% of voters favor President Trump's Executive Order requiring government agencies to recognize only two sexes, male and female.
    • 31% of voters oppose this order.
    • These numbers include 45% who Strongly Favor the order and 19% who Strongly Oppose it.
  • As mentioned elsewhere, the popularity of transgender issues is simply a mirage.

This data is from two Napolitan News Service surveys of 1,000 Registered Voters each, conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, June 5-6, 2023 and January 21-22, 2025. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the surveys. Each one has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
