President Biden's goal to conserve 30% of our lands and oceans by 2030 is barely known by Americans. Just 16% of voters say they know what 30 by 30 is, and only 39% of those (6% of all voters) can give a correct description of the plan in response to an open-ended question.
Here's some of those responses:
"30 by 30 aims to protect 30% of Earth's land and oceans by 2030."
'"30 by 30" refers to a global conservation target to protect 30% of the Earth's land and oceans by 2030 to combat biodiversity loss and mitigate climate change.'
"By 2030, protect 30% of our water and land resources."
"HOAX HOAX HOAX"
"Liberal Socialists want 30 percent of all American land to be owned by the government by 2030"
"30 by 30 is a shared roadmap to a nature-positive future."
A Napolitan News survey found that among those who say they know what 30 by 30 is, 73% have favorable opinions. This appears to be a project known only to its supporters.
This is another example of a term and plan that the vast majority of Americans know nothing about. See more about the language barrier between everyday Americans and political elites below.
This Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen November 20-21, 2024. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
