  • Majorities of voters favor extending the popular Temporary Labor Program, which allows companies to hire foreign seasonal workers at busy points throughout the year.
  • For instance, 64% favor a proposal to extend the program to include agricultural processing that occurs off the farm.
    • About 1 in 5 voters (21%) oppose extending the temporary labor program to include agricultural, non-farm jobs.
    • Solid majorities of Democrats (74%) and Republicans (59%) favor extending the program to include agricultural jobs that occur off the farm.
  • A majority even favor extending the practice to certain year round jobs, in certain circumstances.
  • For instance, 56% of registered voters favor extending the temporary labor program to dairy farmers, who currently cannot hire foreign workers because the work is year-round, even if no American ones are available.
    • Three in 10 (29%) Strongly favor the idea.
    • Just 19% oppose extending the temporary labor program to dairy farmers.
    • Again, majorities of both parties agree, though more Democrats (66%) than Republicans (54%) favor extending the program.
    • Only 45% of voters who are government employees favor the extension.


    This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, March 9-10, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
