  • A majority of U.S. voters say that abuses of government power have occurred under presidents Trump, Biden, and Obama.
    • In a recent survey, 52% of voters said the FCC chairman's comments to ABC, regarding Jimmy Kimmel, were an abuse of power.
  • Similarly, 54% said the suppression of truthful stories regarding Hunter Biden's laptop was a Very Serious abuse of government power.
  • Fifty-six percent (56%) voters said attempting to cover up the possibility that the coronavirus was created in Wuhan, China, was a serious abuse of government power.
  • Finally, 46% said that the IRS targeting of conservative political organizations under the Obama administration was a Very Serious abuse of power.
  • Data collected earlier this year also shows that a majority believe Donald Trump violated the Constitution.


The most recent data cited is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, September 23-24, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
