Thirty-nine percent (39%) of votes say the economy is in a recession which is the highest level measured since Donald Trump won the election in November. Twenty-four percent (24%) now rate the economy as good or excellent while 41% say poor. Voters today rate the economy just as poorly as they did in our last survey before the election.
While perceptions of the economy have grown more pessimistic, voters still view their personal finances better than they did before Trump's election. Thirty percent (30%) of voters say their personal finances are getting better while 34% say worse. These numbers are much less pessimistic than pre-election when 25% said better and 41% said worse (net -16).
