Republicans are once again trusted more than Democrats on the economy (R+8) and inflation (R+6), the two issues most important to voters.

Last month, at the height of tariff tensions, a Napolitan News Survey found that Democrats moved even with Republicans on the economy (R+1) and ahead on inflation (D+4). This month's results are consistent with long term trends (R+10 on the economy in January and February; on inflation, R+11 in February, R+9 in January.)

It is likely that the increase in Republican trust this month is due to positive reactions to Trump's deal with China and general economic optimism. Inflation (29%) and the economy (25%) are seen as the single most important issues by voters.

Immigration (12%) and health care (12%) are tied as the number three concern for voters. In addition to the top two issues, Republicans are trusted more on immigration (R+16). However, Democrats are trusted more on healthcare (D+12).

Overall, on the issue that is most important to them, 42% trust Republicans more, and 41% trust Democrats. Six percent (6%) trust both equally, and 10% trust neither.
