Publication: 05/01/2025 4:00 PM CST

Fifty-one percent (51%) of voters support arresting a state or local government official who helps an illegal immigrant avoid arrest and deportation. A Napolitan News Survey also found that (24%) disagree and believe such an official should not be arrested.

The arrest and suspension of Wisconsin Judge Hannah Dugan has prompted a firestorm on this topic. Judge Dugan is accused of obstructing immigration officials.

In March, a Napolitan News Survey found that a plurality of American voters say judges have not gone far enough in blocking the president's orders.

The most recent data cited is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen April 28-29, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
