Two thirds (67%) of voters have favorable opinions of the federal government's food stamps program.

Eighty-three percent (83%) say that a family of four making $30,000 a year should be eligible to receive food stamps, including 46% who say a family of four making $60,000 a year should be eligible.

Two years ago, an identical 83% said a family of four making $30,000 should be eligible for food stamps.

However, the 46% who now say that a family of four making $60,000 should be eligible is up 9 points from 37% two years ago.

The most recent data cited is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen May 14-15, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
