Just 25% of registered voters rate the economy as Good or Excellent, down 3 points from 2 weeks ago, and 4 from a month ago.
- Forty-one percent (41%) rate the economy as Poor, up 2 points from 2 weeks ago.
- This is the highest number of voters to rate the economy as Poor since the tariffs were first announced in April, when 42% rated it the same.
- Only 41% of Republicans say the economy is Good or Excellent, down 2 points from 2 weeks ago. One in 5 Republicans (20%) say the economy is Poor.
- Democrats' views are even more pessimistic: just 11% say the economy is Good or Excellent, while 59% say it is Poor.
Only 26% of voters say the economy is getting better, and 51% say it is getting worse.
- Forty-eight percent (48%) of Republicans say it is getting better (up 2 points from 2 weeks ago), and 23% say it is getting worse.
- A mere 6% of Democrats say the economy is getting better (down 3 points from 2 weeks ago), while 80% of Democrats say it is getting worse.
Confidence in the U.S. economy dropped during the government shutdown and so far has not recovered.

This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, December 1-2, 2025. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
